Essert – Our name

Assert /əˈsɜrt/ (verb) – to say that something is certainly true, or to express confidence.

We named our company to sound like the verb Assert. We named our company Essert /əˈsɜrt/ so our customers shall assert their conformance to cybersecurity, privacy, or other laws or regulations. Essert helps customers navigate and automate compliance. Our customers assert their compliance obligations. Our customers often use our platform to assert their compliance with their contractual obligations as well.

Our mission

Free the world of data breaches

The massive Equifax data breach of 2017 hit home for us. The Essert founder DV Dronamraju, launched extensive research on data breach prevention technologies, tools, processes, and business risk assessment. The result is a white paper published in 2018 titled ‘Free the world of data breaches‘. And this became our mission. We proposed that businesses should adopt cybersecurity and privacy as a value. One key tenet of this white paper is that businesses shall include, in their agreements, a covenant to prevent the theft of personal information and confidential information. This triggers a network effect, that results in a world free of data breaches.

Meanwhile, in Sacramento, lawmakers started working on consumer privacy, and California Consumer Privacy Act was signed into law later voters approved an updated California Privacy Rights Act. And in 2023, the SEC (Securities and Exchanges Commission) finalized rules for Cybersecurity compliance for public companies. The team is realizing its mission by promoting security and privacy compliance automation.

In the post-pandemic workplace, there is a big jump in new cybersecurity and privacy laws. Millions of businesses around the world are expected to comply with new cybersecurity and privacy laws. In the beginning, we built a SaaS product for individual compliance laws. We quickly recognized that our approach needed a radical change.

This need for change triggered massive innovation. We built a Declarative AI platform to generate enterprise apps. We are focused on building apps that automate cybersecurity and privacy compliance. We piloted a product-led approach and changed it to a partner-led model. We are pioneers in the usage-based pricing model in the GRC market.

Our central focus is the customer experience and how our customers experience value. We pledge to add more value each day.
